PINTO BEAN CHILI 
1 lb. ground beef
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 (16 oz.) cans whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
1 c. water
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 (15 oz.) cans pinto beans, undrained

Combine first 3 ingredients in a Dutch oven; cook until meat is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain off drippings. Stir in remaining ingredients except beans; cover. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add beans and simmer 5 minutes. Yield: 7 cups.
