1 lb. ground beef 1 lg. onion, chopped 1/2 c. green pepper, chopped 1 clove garlic 1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms 1 (10 1/4 oz.) can spaghetti sauce with mushrooms 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/2 c. water Salt & pepper Oregano (opt.) 1 (8 oz.) pkg. thin sliced Mozzarella cheese 1 (8 oz.) pkg. elbow noodles 1 1/2 c. grated American cheese Brown beef, onion, green pepper and garlic over medium heat. Add mushrooms, sauce, water and seasonings. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes. Cook macaroni in salted water. Drain well. Add American cheese and toss lightly. Grease 2 1/2 quart casserole, put in 1/2 of the macaroni and cheese mixture. Cover with a layer of sauce then Mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. |
