MACAROON CAKE | |
6 eggs, separated 3/4 c. shortening 1/2 c. butter 3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 c. cake flour 1 c. milk 2 c. shredded coconut Grease and flour tube pan. Beat egg yolks, shortening, and butter on high. Gradually add sugar; beat until fluffy. Add flavorings; beat on low speed. Add milk and flour alternately. Add coconut. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake 2 hours at 350 degrees. Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan. Dust top with powdered sugar. |
