ANGEL WINGS 
1/2 tsp. salt
4 egg yolks
1/4 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. rum
1 c. flour

Add salt to eggs and beat 10 minutes. Add sugar, vanilla and rum, beat until well blended. Fold in flour.

Transfer to a well-floured board and knead well until dough blisters. Cut in half; roll very thin and cut into strips about 4 inches long. Slit each piece in center and pull one end through the slit.

Fry in hot oil until lightly brown. Drain well on paper towels. Sprinkle additional confectioners' sugar over angel wings.

I gave away last deep fryer because it didn't get hot enough. Now I don't know how hot the oil has to be in order for these to turn out right. I won't by another deep fryer until I do. I would appreciate this knowledge, as I would like to start making these again.
