1 head of garlic, broken into cloves 4 sticks butter or 2 c. 1 lg. bunch basil, fresh only, chopped Chop or press all garlic cloves into saute pan and add butter. Over medium low heat. Melt butter with garlic just until butter melts and you can smell the heavenly aroma. Then add the basil and saute a few moments more. Remove from heat. At this point the garlic butter is ready to use and it can be stored in a glass jar for future use. This makes quite a bit so unless you're making a lot of bread, you'll have some left over. |
