SUGAR COATED WALNUT CRESCENTS 
1 1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. confectioners' sugar
1 egg yolk, beaten
1 c. walnuts, finely chopped
3 1/4 c. flour

Combine 1 1/2 cups creamed butter with 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar, 1 beaten egg yolk, and 1 cup finely chopped walnuts. Gradually mix in 3 1/4 cups flour. Form small pieces of dough into crescent shapes; place on baking sheet. Bake at 275 degrees for 40 minutes or until delicately browned. Carefully arrange slightly cooled crescents on thin layer of sifted confectioners' sugar in shallow pan. Sift more confectioners' sugar over the top; let stand until cool. Store in lightly covered jar. Makes about 3 dozens.
