FILLING: 3/4 lb. ground beef 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/2 tsp. onion powder 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 tsp. salt Saute beef, stir in seasonings and cook for 15 minutes. Cool while making dough. DOUGH: 4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. ice water Combine flour and salt in medium bowl, cut in shortening until crumbly. Drizzle water over surface of flour mixture. Toss briskly with fork until mixture forms a ball. Divide dough into 12 pieces. Roll each into a circle. Place 1 heaping tablespoon of meat in center of dough circle. Seal edges. Fry in oil until crisp, approximately 3 minutes. |
