CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
2 sticks Parkay or butter
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. chopped pecans
1 lb. chopped dates
1 lb. candied cherries, chopped
1 lb. brown sugar

Combine sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time. Add buttermilk and soda, mixed. Mix fruit, nuts and 1/2 cup flour. Add rest of flour to first mixture; then add fruit and nuts. Mix well. Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
