CHEDDAR - PECAN BISCUITS | |
2 c. flour, all-purpose 1/8 tsp. cayenne red pepper, ground 1 tbsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. cheddar cheese, sharp 3/4 c. pecans, toasted & coarsely chopped 3/4 c. milk Heat oven to 450 degrees. In large bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and ground red pepper. Cut butter into flour mixture until coarse crumbs form. Add pecans and cheese, toss well to mix. Stir in milk to moisten. Turn dough onto floured surface, knead 2 or 3 times until dough holds together. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness, cut out biscuits to 1 1/2 inch circle. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Cook 10 to 12 minutes until golden. 2 1/2 dozen. |
