SUGAR CRUNCH COOKIE 
1 egg
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. buttered flavored Crisco
3 c. flour
3 tbsp. sifted cornmeal (white)
3 tsp. baking powder
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. flavoring (your choice)

Sift together 1/2 of sugar and all dry ingredients into a large bowl, add butter. Mix thoroughly. When all batter and flour is mixed make a hole in center, add remainder of sugar, 1 well beaten egg, mix thoroughly with large spoon after all ingredients are mixed. Knead very well. Roll to 1/4". Cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 375 degrees.
