PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg
1 c. chopped pecans

FILLING:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
2/3 c. reserve cake mix

Grease bottom and sides of 13 x 9 baking pan. Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix for filling. In large mixing bowl combine remaining dry cake mix, butter and egg; mix until crumbly. Press in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes (or until light golden brown). Mix filling and beat at medium speed 2 minutes. Pour filling over baked crust; sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake 30 minutes (until filling is set).

Tastes just like mini pecan pies.
