MOTHER'S NUT BREAD 
3/4 c. sugar
4 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 1/4 c. rich milk
1 c. nut meats

Sift the dry ingredients together; beat the eggs into the milk and add to the dry ingredients. Add the nuts. Mix all together. Put into greased and floured loaf pan; let rise one half hour. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F.) about one hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool and keep wrapped in clean dish towel. This will slice very thin and is good spread with butter. Serve it for breakfast with a dish of fresh fruit.
