DANDELION WINE | |
1 qt. dandelion flowers 4 qt. water 1/2 c. lukewarm water 1 yeast cake 1 lb. seeded raisins 6 c. sugar 1 lemon 1 orange 1 c. rum Measure the blossoms without the stems. Place them in a large pot with water and boil for 30 minutes. Pour this through cheese cloth into a large stone jar. When cool, add the yeast dissolved in the 1/2 cup water, raisins, sugar, citrus fruits cut into small pieces (leaving skins on). Then stir every day for 2 weeks, strain and let stand a day to settle. Strain carefully through cheesecloth until clear, add the rum, bottle and seal. |
