BRAISED PORK CHOPS 
6 pork chops
3 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. sherry
1/2 clove garlic, minced
3 slices ginger root, minced
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tbsp. sugar
2 green onions (scallions), cut into 1-inch pieces
5 tbsp. soy sauce
6 whole black peppercorns, crushed

Remove bone from pork chops. Mix 3 tablespoons soy sauce, sherry, garlic and ginger in Ziploc style bag, add pork and marinate for 30 minutes in refrigerator.

Drain and fry slowly in oil until golden brown. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over chops. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

Serves 4.
