2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (8 oz.) can Hunt's tomato sauce
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. Wesson oil
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. raisins

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, spices and salt. Add Hunt's sauce, in which baking soda has been dissolved. Add egg, oil, nuts, raisins; mix well. Pour into 2 greased 8-inch layer pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool layers and frost with fluffy white frosting or lemon-butter icing.
