OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. unsifted flour
1 c. uncooked oats
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon or vanilla
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/3 c. butter
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. raisins or cut up cooked prunes (opt.)

Mix flour, rolled oats, baking powder and cinnamon; set aside. Mix brown sugar, butter, egg and about 2 tablespoons milk. Beat until smooth. Add rest of ingredients, except raisins or prunes. Stir until mixed. Let stand a few minutes. Drop from a teaspoon on a greased baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees about 15 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from pan while hot. Makes 2 dozen cookies.

For variety, use recipe above substitute uncooked rolled wheat in place of rolled oats.
