SALTED PEANUT CHEWS | |
1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix 1/3 c. butter, softened 1 egg 3 c. miniature marshmallows TOPPING: 2/3 c. light corn syrup 1/4 c. butter 2 tsp. vanilla 1 (12 oz.) pkg. peanut butter chips 2 c. crispy rice cereal 2 c. salted peanuts Combine cake mix, butter and egg using electric mixer at low speed to make coarse crumbs. Press into bottom of greased 13"x9"x2" baking pan. Bake for 12 to 18 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle marshmallows over hot layer; bake until marshmallows puff up, about 2 to 3 minutes more. Cool. TOPPING: Melt corn syrup, butter, vanilla and peanut butter chips in heavy, quart saucepan, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in cereal and nuts. Spoon over bars. Chill. Makes 36 bars. |
