BANANA SPLIT CAKE 
1 box (18.25 oz.) yellow cake mix
2/3 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 med. very ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, melted and cooled slightly
3 eggs
1 c. chopped nuts
2 med. just ripe bananas
2/3 c. miniature marshmallows
2/3 c. chocolate syrup
Powdered sugar (optional)

Beat cake mix, buttermilk in which the baking soda has been dissolved, 3 mashed bananas, butter and eggs together 2 minutes at medium speed. Grease a large bundt pan generously and coat sides and bottom with 1/3 cup nuts. Spoon 1/3 of batter carefully over nuts on bottom of pan. Now slice 1 banana very thinly over batter in pan. Sprinkle 1/3 cup marshmallows and 1/3 cup nuts over banana slices.

Drizzle 1/3 cup chocolate syrup over all. Spoon another 1/3 of batter over this layer then repeat process (sliced bananas to marshmallows, nuts, syrup). Spoon remaining 1/3 of batter over all. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven 1 hour 15 minutes or until cool. Invert on serving plate. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. Makes 12 servings.
