RED CABBAGE SALAD 
1 med. head red cabbage
6 slices cooked bacon (crumbled)
1 tbsp. bacon fat
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 sm. onion

Cut cabbage, cook until tender in water with the reserved bacon fat. Add the brown sugar and flour into a skillet, add remaining ingredients. Cook until mixture thickens, about 5 minutes. Stir in bacon bits and cabbage. Serve warm. Goes great with barbequed meat or chicken.
