ALMOND CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. quick oatmeal
1/2 c. sliced almonds
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugars well. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time. Mix all dry ingredients; mix well. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until brown, about 12 minutes.
