AUNT THERESE'S CHOCOLATE CHIP
MERINGUES
 
Whites of 2 lg. eggs
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. sm. chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Using small deep bowl, beat egg whites at high speed until stiff. Beating constantly, add sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time, until mixture stands in stiff, glossy peaks. Fold in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoon 1" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Place in oven. Turn off heat. Let meringues dry in oven several hours or overnight. Remove crisp meringue from baking sheet with spatula. Store in air tight container at room temperature. Makes 50.

Variation: 1 cup walnuts may be added. 1 teaspoon vanilla and a little salt.
