ALMOND CREAM CHEESE COFFEE CAKE | |
DOUGH: 1/2 c. unsalted butter 1 c. granulated sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. almond extract 1 c. sour cream 3 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Make dough: cream butter, egg, sugar, extract and sour cream. Sift together dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture. Spread 1/2 of dough in a baking pan (dough will be sticky so pat it with floured fingers). FILLING: 2 lbs. cream cheese 1 c. granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. almond extract Mix filling ingredients together and spoon over dough in pan. Drop remaining dough over filling by spoonfuls. (Dough will spread while baking.) TOPPING: 1/2 c. granulated sugar 1/3 c. all-purpose flour 1/3 c. unsalted butter 1/2 c. almonds Mix sugar, flour, butter, sprinkle over cake. Sprinkle almonds on top. Bake 40 minutes until slightly brown. |
