SHREDDED WHEAT BREAD 
2 shredded wheat biscuits, crumbled
2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. molasses
3 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
6 c. flour

Pour boiling water over shredded wheat and add salt, sugar, molasses and shortening. Cool to lukewarm and add yeast which has been dissolved in warm water. Combine all ingredients. Add flour. Knead on floured surface 8 to 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl. Cover with a towel. Let rise until doubled, approximately 1 hour. Punch down and place in 2 greased loaf pans, 9 5/8" x 5 1/2" x 2 3/4". Let rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Bake in 400 degree oven for 15 minutes then 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes longer. Remove from pans and cool on wire rack. Makes 2 loaves.
