Water Salt Cornmeal Grah am meal Flour Whatever the amount you want to cook (approximately 3 parts water to 1 part meal mixture). Have your water almost boiling. Salt to taste. (Use 1/2 cornmeal and 1/2 graham meal.) Stir meal mixture slowly into your water. Do not mix too thick because it will thicken when it starts boiling. After cooking around 10 minutes, stir in 1 heaping teaspoon of flour and cook a little longer. Pour into pan. Cool. chill several hours or overnight. Turn out. Cut into slices. Fry slowly in hot fat. Turn once. When browned, serve with butter and syrup. |
