1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. sour milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nut meats, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening, add sugar and egg; beat well. Add sour milk alternately with sifted dry ingredients. Add nuts and vanilla. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake about 10 to 15 minutes in 375 degree oven.
