3 c. sugar 1/2 c. white Karo syrup 1/2 c. cold water 2 egg whites 1 tsp. vanilla Place sugar, Karo syrup and cold water in a pan. Cook until softball forms in cold water. Beat 2 egg whites, 2 minutes at high speed, continue beating and pour half of syrup mixture slowly on the beaten egg whites. Cook the rest of the syrup mixture until it forms a hard ball in cold water, then pour syrup over the egg white mixture and add vanilla. Beat until mixture loses it's glass. Add nuts. 8 x 8 pan. |
