BOURBON PECAN BREAD 
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
2 tsp. grated orange rind
1 1/4 cups chopped pecans
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/2 cup bourbon

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.

In bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add grated orange rind and chopped pecans.

In small bowl combine egg, milk and bourbon. Add liquid to dry ingredients, just until blended. Turn into loaf pan. Sprinkle 1/4 cup chopped pecans over top.

Bake at 350°F for 60 to 70 minutes or until pick comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes.

While still hot sprinkle 2 to 3 tablespoons bourbon on top. Turn onto rack and cool completely.

Makes 18 (1/2-inch) slices.
