BEEF IN BEER | |
Chuck, bottom round, heart or other tough cut Seasoned flour (flour, salt, pepper, desired herbs) Vegetable oil Sliced onions Fresh mushrooms 1 can beer Rice or noodles, cooked Slice meat 1/4 inch thick. Dredge in seasoned flour. Brown meat in vegetable oil and remove to a casserole. Add more oil to skillet and brown sliced onions and fresh mushrooms. (Optional: To thicken gravy more, stir in 1-2 tablespoons seasoned flour to pan.) Remove onions and mushrooms to casserole on top of meat. De-glaze pan with can of beer. Stir to remove brown bits from skillet. Pour over meat and vegetables in casserole. Cover casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours until tender. Serve over rice or noodles. May also be cooked in crock pot or electric skillet. |
