MANDEL BROT | |
4-6 c. flour 1/2 dozen eggs 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. oil 1 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. chopped nuts Pinch of salt Beat eggs until light and fluffy; add sugar. Add the dry ingredients, mix together well. Form the dough on cookie sheets, greased, into long rolls (length of the pan). Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top of the rolls. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool slightly and then cut into 3/4 inch slices. If you prefer more crunchy mandel brot toast individual slices under broiler on both sides. Another variation is to use almond flavoring and chopped almonds. You can also divide dough into half and add chocolate and make marbelized mandel brot. |
