TOFFEE NUT BARS 
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. light brown sugar, packed
2 c. flour
1 stick butter
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 egg
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour milk

Mix sugar, flour and butter to make a crumbly mix. Sprinkle 9 x 13 inch pan with chopped nuts. Sprinkle 2 CUPS of crumbly mix on top of nuts. Beat together eggs, salt, spices, soda and sour milk. Stir in remaining crumbly flour mix. Combine all. Pour into pan, spreading evenly. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut into bars. To sour regular milk, add 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice. Let stand few minutes.
