CHOW CHOW 
4 c. onions
4 c. cabbage
4 c. green peppers
4 c. green tomatoes
1/3 c. salt
4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp. tumeric
4 c. vinegar
2 c. water

Chop all vegetables. Sprinkle salt over all and let stand 2 hours. Drain and rinse well in cold water (I use a colander). Mix other ingredients and heat with vegetables. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Put in jars and seal. (I put 3 pods of hot pepper when I cook mine).
