QUEEN PUDDING 
2 c. bread crumbs
1 qt. scalded milk
3 eggs, separated
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. walnuts
Strawberry jam
2 tbsp. sugar

Soak the crumbs in the hot milk until soft. Add the egg yolks beaten with 1/2 cup sugar. Add raisins and walnuts. May season with cinnamon and nutmeg if desired. Pour into baking pan. Place baking pan in a larger pan of water and bake at 350 degrees for about an hour, or until custard is set. When cool, spread with thick layer of strawberry jam over the top. Beat the egg whites until stiff and beat in 2 tablespoons sugar. Spread meringue on top of the jam ad place in oven until a light brown. Serve with cream, hot or cold.
