POT ROAST OF BEEF 
3-4 lb. pot roast
Salt and pepper
1 onion, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Melt shortening in large skillet, brown meat evenly turning often. Sprinkle each side with salt and pepper. Place meat in baking pan. Add peeled potatoes and vegetables to meat. Bake covered at 300 degrees for 3 hours.
