1 c. butter (2 sticks)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together. Cut in butter.

In another bowl combine eggs, sugar and vanilla. Pour this into sifted ingredients. Combine well. Chill dough.

Roll to 1/8 - 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut cookies with floured cookie cutters. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until very lightly browned at edges.
