1 pkg. devil's food cake mix
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/3 c. sugar
1 large egg
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Spoon batter into paper-lined muffin tins, filling 2/3 full. Beat cream cheese and sugar until fluffy; add egg, beating well. Stir in chocolate morsels. Spoon 1 heaping tablespoon of this mixture into center of each cupcake.

Bake in 350°F oven for 25 minutes. Remove from pan and let cool before storing in the refrigerator.
