BROCCOLI-RAISIN SALAD 
1 lg. head broccoli, cut in bite size pieces
1 med. onion, chopped
1/2 c. raisins or more to taste, plumped
1 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar, or to taste
1 to 2 tbsp. cider vinegar or lemon juice, to taste
8 strips bacon, fried crisp and crumbled

Combine broccoli, onion and raisins.

To make the dressing, combine mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar. Add dressing to salad mixture and toss well. Add crisp bacon just before serving. Serve chilled.

Optional additions: 1/4 cup chopped walnuts and 2 tablespoons chopped dates; 1/4 cup sunflower seeds; 1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese; chopped sweet peppers or cubed Cheddar cheese.
