STEWED TOMATOES AND CELERY 
1 quart canned tomatoes
2 cups cut celery
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons butter, or other fat

Simmer the tomatoes and celery together for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the celery is tender. Season with salt, pepper, and fat and serve. This is an excellent way to use the outer stalks of celery that are less desirable for serving raw.
