SIMPLE POUND CAKE 
1 c. unsalted butter, blends or butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
3 c. sifted flour
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. orange extract

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix until light and fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk and flavorings. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool in pan 10 minutes and remove. Most cakes taste better if you use unsalted butter, butter or blends. This cake freezes very well, so you can make it ahead.
