APPLE FRITTERS 
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. melted Crisco
1 c. diced pared apples
1 c. sifted flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Crisco for deep frying

Beat egg with milk. Stir in melted Crisco and apples. Combine dry ingredients; add to egg mixture and stir until mixed. Drop from tablespoon into deep Crisco, heated to 375 degrees. Fry about 4 minutes until golden brown and entirely done. Drain on paper toweling. Serve hot. Roll in confectioners' sugar if desired. Makes 16.
