HOLIDAY FRUIT ROLL 
1 lb. dates, pitted
1 lb. figs
1 lb. coconut
1 lb. currants
1/2 lb. nuts
3 c. white sugar
1 can crushed pineapple, drained
1 lb. white raisins
1 lg. bottle maraschino cherries
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3 tbsp. vanilla

Cook sugar and milk together to soft ball stage; add vanilla. In a large pan mix all the fruit and pour sugar over mixed fruit; mix well. On board or waxed paper, pour powdered sugar. Add small amount of fruit mixture and roll into long roll (about 10 inches).

Roll each roll in wax paper. Makes about 10 rolls. Store in refrigerator or freeze until used. To serve cut in slices. Makes nice gifts. Keeps for months (if any is left!).
