PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES | |
1 c. peanut butter 1 c. Crisco 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. granulated sugar 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed 2 eggs, well beaten 2 c. sifted flour Combine Crisco, salt, soda, peanut butter; cream. Add vanilla and granulated sugar, then add brown sugar, mixing well. Alternate beaten eggs and flour; blend in well. Drop dough from teaspoon on baking sheet. Press cookies lightly with fork to flatten slightly and to make attractive tops. (Press twice one way and then twice across the other way.) Bake in moderately hot oven (350-375 degrees) for about 12 or 15 minutes. Use aluminum cookie sheets and never grease them. Variation: When cookies are cooling, press one Hershey Kiss in the top of each cookie. |
