CORNBREAD 
1 c. self-rising cornmeal (white)
1/2 c. self-rising flour
Scant 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. oil
1 c. buttermilk

Mix dry ingredients together. Add oil and buttermilk. Mix with a spoon. Best to use iron skillet or corn stick pan. Grease with solid shortening. Bake in "hot" oven, 450-475 degrees for 20 minutes.
