EASY BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
2 generous cups sliced cucumbers or squash
1 medium onion, sliced
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. white vinegar, 5%
1/2 tsp. salt (okay to use regular salt instead of pickling salt)
1/2 tsp. mustard seed
1/4 tsp. turmeric
1/4 tsp. celery seed

Mix in glass bowl and microwave 9 minutes, stirring every 3 minutes. Boil jars and lids before packing. Best if chilled in refrigerator overnight before serving.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
