FAVORITE BANANA BREAD 
1/2 c. softened butter (or 1 stick butter)
1 c. sugar
2 lg. eggs
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
2 c. mashed bananas (about 2 med.)
2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 (8x4 inch) loaf pans. In large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed, cream butter, sugar, eggs and orange peel until light and fluffy. Beat in bananas.

Combine flour, baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt. At low speed, gradually add flour mixture, then buttermilk. Beat just until smooth. Stir in nuts and chocolate.

Evenly spoon into prepared pans. Bake 1 hour or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Makes 2 loaves.
