CHERRY MACAROON 
1 1/3 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring

Add 2 eggs and mix well.

3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda

Blend in 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries and 1 1/2 cups coconut. Dough will be stiff. Drop on ungreased sheet and bake at 375 degrees until light brown, about 7 minutes. you have to check them.
