LIQUID FOR PREPARING CORNED BEEF | |
50 lb. beef 1 1/2 lb. salt 1 1/4 oz. saltpeter 2 oz. baking soda 2 1/2 lb. brown sugar 1 qt. molasses 5 gal. rain water Mix and pour over meat which has been placed in deep containers. Let stand 3 to 4 weeks. Wash meat off before using, freezing or canning. Before canning, drain well and cold for 3 hours. |
