GERMAN CHOCOLATE PIE 
1/3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
24 oz. evaporated milk
4 oz. bar sweet chocolate
1 tbsp. butter
2 beaten egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (9 inch) baked pie shell
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 1/3 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. chopped pecans

In pan, combine 1/3 cup sugar and cornstarch. Mix 2 1/4 cups milk, chocolate, and 1 tablespoon butter into sugar mixture. Cook and stir until thick. Reduce heat and cook 2 more minutes. Pour 1 cup of hot mixture into egg yolks. Return mixture to pan; bring to boil. Cook 2 minutes. Add vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell. In another pan mix 3/4 cup milk, 1 beaten egg, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup butter. Cook and stir over medium heat until thick. Add coconut and pecans. Spoon this mixture over chocolate filling. Delicious. Serves 8.
