BRANDY BALLS
2 1/2 c. finely crushed vanilla wafers (about 60)
1 c. sifted confectioner's sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa powder
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts
1/4 c. brandy
1/4 c. light corn syrup

Combine wafer crumbs, sugar, cocoa, and nuts. Stir in brandy and syrup. Add a little water (about 1 1/4 teaspoon) if necessary to form mixture into 3/4 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Store in tightly covered container. Makes 4 dozen.

This cookie recipe has become a family Christmas tradition. I started making it when our children were very small. Since they have let home, usually one or the other will make the recipe so we can still enjoy it at family gatherings.
