HARVARD BEETS 
2 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
Dash of ground cloves
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 can sliced beets, drained (save 1/3 c. liquid)
1 tbsp. orange juice

In a 1 quart casserole, combine cornstarch, salt, pepper, and cloves. Blend in vinegar, saved beet juice, and orange juice. Microwave at high 1 3/4 to 2 1/2 minutes or until clear and thickened. Stir every minute. Add beets. Microwave at high 1 to 3 minutes until beets are thoroughly heated.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
