RHUBARB CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. chopped rhubarb
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Use greased 9-inch square baking pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream together butter, brown sugar and egg. Combine flour, baking soda, rhubarb, cinnamon and cloves. Add buttermilk and dry ingredients to creamed mixture, plus the vanilla, and stir just until mixed. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan.
